Nachwuchskonzept / Concept de la rélève / Player Pathway Concept

The promotion of the next generation is at the root of our future success with the national teams.

10 years ago, the FSR started to develop this concept. Thanks to these efforts, Swiss rugby has been able to improve permanently in international competitions. Today, Swiss Olympic also validated this project by agreeing to the « concept de la relève (Nachwuchsförderkonzept ) » of the FSR.

Talent Cards

The Swiss olympic card is an award given to athletes for their performance or their potential.

In agreement with the FSR, Swiss Olympic sends a yearly personal Swiss Olympic Card to the deserving athletes.

For rugby, Swiss Olympic delivers national or regional « talent » cards for young players from U16 to U20.

National Academies

The FSR has implemented two national performance centers to allow the national Talents (see Talent Cards above) to increase their training volume, in order to achieve their best potential. Find more information on the National Academies HERE.
