Swiss Team to face Ukraine in Rugby Europe Trophy on March 12th

Lausanne, March 3rd, 2017 - The Swiss National team will face the Ukraine in its 3rd match in the Rugby Europe Trophy (Top 18 in Europe) at the next Suisse Rugby Day Event held on Sunday, March 12th in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva.
After an encouraging start into the tournament (a 28-10 defeat against the highly favored Portuguese on November 19th 2016 and a 29-26 victory against Moldova on November 26th, the newly-promoted Swiss Team (promotion from the lower division in May 2016) will face the Ukraine in its 3rd home game.
The match will take place for the first time ever in the Centre Sportif des Cherpines in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, on Sunday March 12th at 15h00.
For the currently last-placed Ukraine, which lost its last three matches unable to amass any points, this match is about survival. For the Swiss team, on the other hand, a victory could mean securing its place in this group for another season, barely even half way through the championship.
In case of a defeat, the men of the Edelweiss would have to earn vital points in its two remaining away-matches, against the Netherlands and Poland, two legitimate favorites to win the Trophy.
The match Switzerland - Ukraine will be live streamed at www.suisserugby.com as well as on www.rugbyeurope.tv.
Tickets are available on sale through shop.suisserugby.com as well as on-site at the stadium on match-day.
