ANDROS Fairplay Trophy
For the 2nd season, ANDROS, Development Partner of the FSR, supports the main Rugby School Tournaments in Switzerland by offering the snack of the children.
So, since the beginning of 2018, it’s about 3’000 children who were able to taste products of the brand Andros (juices, drinks, compotes…) and Bonne Maman (jams, cakes, biscuits…) during the following tournaments: CERN, Fribourg, Nyon, Genève Plan-les-Ouates, Yverdon, La Chaux-de-Fonds et Avusy.
In association with all these clubs, the Swiss Rugby Union thanks ANDROS for its support to our young rugbymen!
For the season 2018/2019, the FSR and ANDROS join together to create the “ANDROS Fairplay Trophy” which will celebrate one team at each Rugby School Tournaments supported by our Development Partner.
During the Tournament of Bern, on Sunday, 21st October, that’s the mixed team U10-U12 Berne/Bâle/Thoune/Haute Broye/Würenlos which has been designated the most FAIRPLAY team of the tournament and therefore wins this 1st ANDROS Fairplay Trophy of the season: Congratulations to them!
Report of the Tournament of Bern, Sunday 21.10.2018 (text credit: Norbert Li Marchetti, President of RC Berne)
"Under a radiant sun, some hundred small Rugby players - and women - came from all over the country to compete between them.
The day began with the warm-up of young players with their respective coach, and the RC Bern offered an apéritif to the managers of the teams during the briefing of the tournament.
It should be noted that the youngs of RC Zoug and the development academy of GC Rugby Zurich - strengthened by the young players of Neuchâtel - showed a game level higher than the average during the matches, what naturally resulted in finales between these two teams in both represented categories, U10 and U12.
Brave, without faults, and without ever giving up, the mixed team North-Swiss deserved, in the eyes of the coaches and the referees, the award of the ANDROS Fairplay Trophy, created on this occasion.
We thank ANDROS for its sponsorship and especially for all the products offered to the children for their snack after a sports day, full of rugby feelings."
