Eric Melville, Co-coach of the Swiss National Team, has passed away
Zurich, 19/06/2017 - It is with great sadness that the Swiss Rugby Union has learned of the passing of Eric Melville this morning, at age 55, following a heart attack.
Eric Melville, born on June 27th, 1961 on the Cape (South Africa), was a former south-African XVs rugby player, with French citizenship. He played for France as number 8. He was general manager of RC Toulonnais during the 2000-01 season, and later became coach at Oyonnax. In 2007 he became coach of Grasse, and then of Stade Dijonnais on 2010.
In 2016 Eric became the co-coach of the Swiss National Team, and together with Olivier Nier took the team to 3rd place in the Rugby Europe Trophy in their first season in the competition.
