Switzerland and the Ivory Coast part with a 6-6 draw in their Test Match on Feb 24th.

Geneva, 24.02.2019 - Around 300 spectators came to support the Swiss team, which hosted the Ivory Coast at the “Centre Sportif de Vessy” in Geneva for a test-match before the re-start of the European Championship.
During the first 40 minutes of the match, the 2 teams matched up blow for blow with each other, with defence dominating the game, over offence. None of the 2 teams was able to get over the tryline, and only the kickers succeeded in keeping the scoreboard ticking over. Gaetan Hirsch on the Swiss side, and Jonathan Lo on the Ivory Coast, scored alternately 2 penalties each, to make the score 6 – 6 at half-time.
The second half was identical to the first, except at this time, both teams were no longer trying just to convert their penalties, but were attempting, in vain, to cross the opposing line. The Swiss team valiantly defended against the repeated assaults of the “elephants” of Ivory Coast. At the end of the game, the Ivorians tried and missed a final penalty attempt. Final score 6 - 6.
The Swiss team showed again a great solidarity and many players playing in the Swiss championship were able to get valuablee playing time on the international stage. A great warm-up and test before the rest of the Rugby Europe Trophy:
Switzerland - Portugal on 16.03 in Nyon, CH
Poland - Switzerland on 23.03 in Lodz, PL
Switzerland - Lithuania on 13.04 in Schaffhausen, CH
