No new restrictions for Rugby in Switzerland

Zurich, 19.10.2020 - Following the latest measures announced on October 18th by the Swiss Federal Council to contain the spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic, it has been clarified that as a sport organized under a national federation who is a member of Swiss Olympic, and has an approved COVID-Concept for the Return to Play, we can continue our activities respecting the framework of that concept.
Specifically, the restriction to 15 persons, which was announced for private gatherings, does not apply to organized club trainings nor competitions under this framework. Of course, the obligation to wear masks in public indoor spaces, including entrance, hallways, and cafeterias of sports facilities, applies to us all. It has been specified that in the actual training and competition areas (the field of play) masks are not mandatory.
As always, any particular local rules and restrictions must be observed equally. For the moment, however, these do no forbid our clubs and teams to train and compete as they have been doing since September 12th.
At the end of the fall season, the situation in the national championships will be evaluated, and if a fundamental modifications to the spring season is necessary, it will be put to an electronic vote by the clubs.
