FACTS & FIGURES ON RUGBY IN SWITZERLAND

Despite being one of the major professional sports in neighboring France, Rugby is a minor amateur sport in Switzerland. Players in Swiss Rugby are not professional, meaning they do not make a living by playing rugby. They play purely for the fun, enjoyment, and camaraderie the sport provides, as well as to stay fit and in good shape.

While Swiss Rugby is rarely seen on national television, it has been gaining growing media attention over the last years, thanks to social media, streaming, and other channels. Also, the Rugby World Cup, XVs Rugby's marquee event, as well as the Olympic Rugby Tournament, have been gaining more and more visibility on Swiss National Television.
