U20 National Team Prepares for European Championship with New Staff and Ambitious Goals

Road to Prague!

Last weekend, the U20 National Team gathered for an intensive two-day training camp in Macolin, laying the groundwork for their upcoming participation in the European Championship in mid-November in Prague. This camp marked an important milestone, not only for the players but also for the Swiss Rugby Federation’s long-term vision of developing future rugby talent.

The U20 team’s new technical staff is composed of experienced professionals:

  • Manager: Clément Cauquil
  • Forward Coach: André Adopo
  • Back Coach: Nicolas Merle
  • DTN: Sébastien Dupoux
  • Physiotherapist: Anna Stitelmann

Over the course of the weekend, 25 players engaged in four rigorous training sessions, several video analysis workshops, and a professional recovery program. The players embraced this unique opportunity to experience the demands of high-level rugby, fully committing to the following team goals:

Represent Swiss Rugby with pride and courage, embodying the values of the sport both on and off the field.

Focus on continuous improvement, both as individuals and as a cohesive unit, in every match they play.

Win at least one crucial match to ensure the participation in the competition.

The Swiss Rugby Federation recognizes the U20 team as a key pillar in its long-term strategy to foster talent, instill strong rugby values, and elevate the sport’s profile in Switzerland. Their preparation for the European Championship in Prague is an exciting step forward in realizing these ambitions.

We wish the U20 team every success on their journey and look forward to seeing them represent Switzerland on the international stage.
