Swiss Rugby 7s staff take part in high-performance exchange at Marcoussis

As part of its ongoing commitment to high-performance development, Swiss Rugby recently took an important step forward in the evolution of its Sevens programmes. Members of the Swiss Rugby 7s staff spent three days immersed with the French Men’s Rugby Sevens team at Marcoussis, the French National Training Centre and base of the current Olympic champions.

This elite exchange provided a valuable opportunity to observe and experience a Tier 1 high-performance environment first-hand. The Swiss staff were able to gain insights into training methodologies, performance structures, daily routines and organisational standards at the very highest level of international Sevens rugby.

Such collaborations are a key component of Swiss Rugby’s strategic approach to long-term development. Learning directly from one of the world’s leading Sevens programmes allows Swiss Rugby to benchmark its own structures, identify areas for improvement and integrate best practices across both the men’s and women’s 7s pathways.

Suisse Rugby would like to express its sincere gratitude to the entire French Rugby 7s organisation for the exceptionally warm welcome and for the openness with which knowledge, experience and expertise were shared throughout the stay.

The following Swiss Rugby staff members were on site in Marcoussis:

  • Laure Bady – Physiotherapist, Men’s 7s
  • Simon Berruyer – Head Coach, Men’s 7s
  • Josselin Lapierre – Assistant Coach, Men’s 7s
  • Rahel Bosshard – Head Coach, Women’s 7s

The learnings gained during this high-level exchange will directly contribute to the continued development and professionalisation of Swiss Rugby’s Sevens programmes, reinforcing the federation’s ambition to steadily raise its competitive standards on the international stage.
