The 2022-2023 international season ended with a new victory for Switzerland, which is more than ever the leader of the Rugby Europe Trophy 2022-2024.

4 games, 4 wins.

This time, it is against Croatia, and in Makarska, that Switzerland ends the first round matches and leads the Rugby Europe Trophy 2022-2024.  After a convincing start, which sees Switzerland leading 10-0 in the 15th minute, it is Croatia that reacts with pride to score 2 tries before halftime which ends on the score of 17 to 10 for Croatia.  In the 2nd half the game is balanced and it will take 20min for Switzerland to score its 2nd try and pass definitively 22-17, then to finish the game at 32-22 after Croatia scored one last time.

With 19 points pocketed out of 20 possible, and this despite 3 trips out of 4 games, Switzerland is solidly positioned at the top of the European championship and will leave with a 10 points lead before the return games on the 2nd of the ranking: Ukraine which is 9 points.

Congratulations to the players, the first actors of these successes, and to the staff of the National Team for their hard work during the last months and during the different national gatherings which allowed the integration of almost 50% of players coming from the Swiss Championships, including a player of LNB, Dani Zinsstag.

The 2023-2024 season promises to be exciting, with the organization of three home matches that the FSR wishes to transform into real rugby parties with the clubs, families, our opponents and all rugby enthusiasts, but also with the clear objective of winning this competition, and to be able to access the Rugby Europe Championship in order to compete at the highest European level.

The best is yet to come!
