It was a special week-end in Croatia for Switzerland’s Men XV as the team was actually facing Ukraine in an away game that had to be organized in Zagreb due to the situation in Ukraine.

Switzerland's Men XV faced a very competitive squad, which fought with great heart and were very proud to be able to honor their colors and their country.  Switzerland grabbed a convincing win with 9 tries scored by Jess Roberson from GC Zurich (with 3 tries), George Hallam from Market Harborough RC, Cyril Lin (Captain) from RC Nyon, Jules Porcher from CS Vienne, Jorn Vögtli (Tim’s younger brother) from Oxford Harlequins, and Dominic Gorman from RC Yverdon.  The last try coming on a Penalty Try awarded following a dangerous tackle on Nicolas Mousties who was about to cross the goal line.

But the most important was elsewhere, after the match, when players from both sides had the time and the chance to share some nice rugby moments.  Switzerland’s Staff and Players wanted to show their support to their Ukrainian rugby brothers, and in that respect had brought jerseys from their club to exchange with their opponent on the game.  The after match ceremony was filled with good vibes and emotion.

Now, next week-end will see the beginning of the 2nd part of the season, and for Switzerland's Men XV next game is on April 1st for the last game of the 2022-2023 season against Croatia.  More news to come later on this game
