Amazing win over Rugby Club Rumilly

  • 11 Feb 2023

Congratulations to the Suisse Rugby Women's XV's team for their 22:7 win over Rugby Club Rumilly in a friendly game on Saturday, February 11th, 2023.

The Suisse Women's XV's rugby squad returned energized and with a win in their pockets back from their first friendly game this year in Rumilly, France on Saturday, February 11th, 2023.

With new coaches on board, positions being shuffed around and fresh moves introduced, the team started off slightly nervoius. In addition, the French League rule on tackling "waist down" required some adjustment and thus resulted in a couple of penalties against the Swiss team. Backs and Forwards managed to gel after 20 minutes and started playing with an increased confidence after Kim Audrey Evans (fullback) first try. Towards the end of the second half, the Swiss women's team demonstrated good ball carrying skill and put the opposition under a lot of pressure. So when the second halftime was kicked-off, the Edelweiss women became unstoppable which lead to a 22.7 win over Rumilly. All players were given the chance to demomstrate their sills on the pitch and convince the coaches with their performance. All in all, an exciting game and a great performance by the XV's women's squad - we are looking forward to seing more of this!

Congratulations to the entire team & supporting staff and a high five to the first timers
